for novel dreamers and imaginers…

…turn a dream
into a story idea,
into words…

Dear Novel Dreamer,

You’re giving yourself a day of creative inspiration so that you can generate ideas for your novel, for your characters and their situation, and to plot out your first draft.

This day is all about dreaming, imagining, remembering who you are and your voice, generating, and selecting ideas for your novel so that you can start writing the first draft of your novel without hesitation.

And you’ll learn enough novel writing craft to begin.
Workshop resources will be available in your Podia account after the workshop.

IMPORTANT NOTE: None of your ideas need to be shared with others during the workshop.

What you’ll learn in this workshop...

  • To recognise yourself as the novel writer and your writing journey to this day.
  • To come up with and select ideas that are your voice and truth and will make your novel completely yours.
  • How to recognise your capacity to fit novel writing into your life.
  • The basics of novel craft – layout of a novel, what a scene is, a paragraph, novel lengths.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: None of your ideas need to be shared with others during the workshop.

What's included...

an In-person workshop

Writing can feel like a lonely process, so an in-person workshop can help you meet other writers who may be going through the same experiences as you.
Also, a location outside of your home gives you space to focus on your writing needs and your novel.

a Workbook with notes and prompts

All the novel idea prompts are in a workbook to help you brainstorm or mind map your novel ideas, your Characters, their Situation, and Plot ideas – at the workshop and afterwards when you’re back home.

a beautiful Location

The workshop is in the Main Gallery upstairs at the Coastguard Cultural Centre in Tramore, Co. Waterford. I love the incredible views of Tramore Bay.
At the Coastguard Cultural Centre, there’s an on-site Café and you’ll be able to purchase take-away options before we start and during breaks through the workshop.
There’s free parking near and around the centre. For accessibility, there’s a lift inside up to the Main Gallery.

an online course portal for Resources

A pdf copy of the slides, and any other references/resources, from the workshop will be available inside Podia – the course portal.
At payment, you set-up a Podia account and it’ll have all the information you need before the workshop starts.
Using Podia means I can also offer a payment plan for this workshop.

Hi, I'm Cecilia

I’m a Novel Navigator.

I help you do your novel, trust your journey, overcome self-doubt and make novel writing a part of your life.

For over a decade, I’ve facilitated writers in creative and novel writing groups.

Trained with the Cert. in Creative Writing for Publication and the Two Roads program at Maynooth University (Kilkenny Campus) with Suzanne Power and John MacKenna.

Received a Regional Bursary (Literature) residency award for the Tyrone Guthrie Centre.

I write science fiction: author of ‘The Alien Eve’, have poetry and short fiction in two anthologies ‘Hammered Glass’ and ‘Word Weavers: A First Anthology’.

I know the dream of being a novel writer and I know that taking the first step of anything can be the hardest thing to do. It is both scary and exciting to want to write a novel.

Remember, you’re already a writer.

Book your place to learn and create ideas for your novel.

This is for Novel Dreamers.
